Welcome to the CSE Academy! I am looking forward to welcoming all of you on campus and working with you together with our enthusiastic team of student mentors, staff and faculty.
Welcome to UCSD and the CSE Summer Academy! I am pleased to have the opportunity to teach the CSE 21 course this summer. I want the Summer Academy to be a memorable and meaningful experience for you, and I am here to help you learn and make the most of these five weeks. I am looking forward to meeting you and welcoming you to the next phase of your education!
Hello and welcome to UC San Diego and CSE! I am an undergraduate advisor for the CSE Department, and I have been working here for the past two years. I have my Master’s degree in Postsecondary Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Student Affairs from San Diego State University. As a first-year generation student, I have a developmental advising style, and I love to help students navigate their way through college. You will see me at one-on-one and group advising sessions this summer. You can also come to me during the academic year for help with academic planning, major information and opportunities, and more! Please do not hesitate to come in to CSE Advising to see me.
Hello. My name is Joe and I am a Computer Science major of senior standing. I transferred to UCSD last fall and have been having a blast ever since! If you love to learn you are coming to the right place. The workload can be strenuous but the material is fascinating and the resources (tutors, office hours, online resources) are always there when you need them. I will be one of those resources for you this summer. I plan to put my all into helping you succeed and have fun at the same time! See you soon!
Hello and welcome to the University of California, San Diego and the CSE Summer Academy! I’ve just completed my first year at UCSD as a Computer Engineering transfer student within Muir College, and I have absolutely loved the whole experience so far. I transferred from Palomar Community College and felt right at home as soon as I started school here at UCSD. The Summer Academy is going to be incredibly useful in preparing you for your time here at the University, and I’m glad I get to be a part of that transition for you. I look forward to an exciting five weeks with everyone and can’t wait to get started.

Welcome to the CSE Academy! I am a second year Computer Science major from
Sixth College. I was undeclared coming into UCSD and I had no prior
experience about this field at all! But don't worry if you are in the same
situation! I am here to help you just like how others have helped me go
through the difficulties!
Hi! I am currently a third-year computer science major from Marshall
College with a passion for web and app development. I came into UCSD as an
undeclared major and quickly realized that computer science was the path
for me. Though it wasn’t easy applying to become a computer science major,
I managed to switch my major. So if any of you guys have question on how
to go about switching to CS, I’d be more than happy to answer any
questions. While I’m not coding, I spend my free time discovering new boba
spots and trying out new restaurants. If you’ve got any good places, let
Hi, I'm Josh. I'm a second year Master's student studying computer security, and I did my undergrad studies at UCSD also. I use computer science to procrastinate on other things. Hopefully I can help you find a similar appreciation for the field. :)
Welcome to the CSE Academy program! I am a second year student studying computer science, and I am ecstatic about the field and love to share my passion. In my spare time, I enjoy working on machine learning/big data projects and attending hackathons. And in my sparer time, I like to play tabletop games and video games! If you guys have any questions about anything, feel free to come to me or to any of the mentors.
Hello~ I'm a third year CS major from Muir College. I came into the major with no prior knowledge of it and have had my fair share of struggles, including the one time when I stayed overnight in the computer lab and the janitor found me sleeping on the floor while hugging my laptop the next day. Despite the struggles, I've managed to get through everything and came to realize that computer science is like ice cream. Once you get a taste of it, you develop an addiction that is difficult to break away from. So, if you ever feel like you're lost in this major, we've all been there so you're not alone. Feel free to come talk to the mentors anytime. We're here to help! However, I'm a bit shy, so don't be afraid to say hi to me first. I look forward to meeting you!
Hi, and welcome to UCSD! I am a second year computer engineering student,
and I love how my major allows me to understand both the theoretical and
hands-on aspects of computers and technology. If you or any of your
friends have questions about the CSE majors, feel free to ask! In my free
time, I play the flute, fiddle with puzzles, and (you guessed it!) play
video games. In fact, I initially was hooked into CS by creating some of
my own video games. I'm excited to meet you all, so feel free to come
along and talk to me if you have any questions or just want to chill!
Welcome to the CSE Academy! I'm looking forward to sharing with you exciting opportunities and resources in Computer Science.

Hello and welcome to the CSE Academy! I am a graduate student in Computer Science at UCSD. I have TAed for both CSE 12 and CSE 21.
If you have any questions/queries, feel free to approach me and I will be more than willing to help!
Hello everybody, congratulations and welcome to the CS Summer Academy. I am very much looking forward to meeting you and helping with anything during the duration of the academy and even after the program comes to an end. I am a transfer student from San Diego county and just completed my first year at UCSD. I had a great deal of help transitioning into this school from new friends and I am really interested in helping others have a smooth transition into college life. I am a Computer Science major and minoring in Computing in the Arts, both which are really interesting and fun fields of study. My interests lie in Computer Graphics, Virtual Reality and Animation and I'm currently part of a research group involving Machine Learning and Data Mining.
Hello and welcome to UCSD! I am a second year majoring in Computer Engineering from Eleanor Roosevelt College. I had very little computer science experience prior to college but came here and jumped right in. I have had my fair share of late nights in the lab and difficult times understanding, but my first year has already taught me so much about the field and the wonderful people in it. I love talking to people so please feel free to strike up conversation on any subject or ask me questions whenever you see me!
Welcome to the CSE Academy! I am a senior student in computer science &
economics major. I am looking forward to share my experience and help you
go through all the difficulties! Please feel free to talk with me about
your concerns or questions
Hello everyone! I’m a fourth-year Computer Engineering student from Marshall college. When I first came to UCSD, I had no experience in anything computer science-related and chose my major at random. I have tutored CSE20 for 5 quarters and many of the other mentors are my former students. I enjoy learning about the theory and logic which form the foundation of all computer science. In my spare time, I play a lot of video games and watch a variety of anime! I enjoy chatting with other people, so if you need help or just want to talk/chill then I will be glad to. Hope to see you around!
Welcome! I am entering my fourth year of studying computer engineering at UCSD. I plan to focus in Computer Architecture. I have previously tutored for CSE 12 and 15L, and I will be tutoring for CSE 15L during the CSE Academy program. I am looking forward to get to know everyone!
Welcome to UCSD and CSE Academy! I am a fifth year student
double majoring in Computer Science and Management Science
with a passion for technical product and project management
and app development. I love to travel and explore different
cultures, eat, and play video games. Feel free to talk to me
about transitioning into computer science, traveling,
San Diego, or anything!
