The Division of Biological Sciences is pleased to offer the 2016 Biology Academy for Transfer Students, which consists of a five-week program from July 30th
through September 2nd, where students will enroll in
courses as described below. The courses will
provide a strong academic foundation so students can rapidly progress in
their degree program at UC San Diego and graduate sooner. In addition, students will participate in advising and other activities to ensure a smooth transition to UC San Diego.
Application for admission to the Academy will be open on May 2, 2016. Please consult the 2016 Academy calendar for more details. Students are encouraged to complete the application as soon as they decide to join UC San Diego.
All Biology Academy students are required to enroll in BICD 100 (Genetics) and either BIBC 103 (Biochemical Techniques) or BICD 101 (Eukaryotic Genetics Lab) through Summer Session II. The five week program consists of the following courses:
Enrollment in BICD 100, BIBC 103 or BICD 101 requires the completion of a course equivalent to
BILD 1, The Cell (Introductory Biology). Please consult http://assist.org for checking whether you will have met the prerequisite to BICD 100 by August 1, 2016.
